2003 / BurningMan 2003 / Making Necklaces

The result is a long block which needs to be sliced.

The clamp and guide block allow me to make consistent slices each time.

I attach the block to my table saw sled with a clamp so my fingers aren&#039;t close to the blade.

Once the amrs and legs are in and the corners chopped off of the block, I start glueing on the outer band made of cherry.

Next, I glue in the arms and legs, one at a time.  The wood this year is purpleheart.

I start with a 3 foot long square piece of maple, cut off the top to put the &quot;head&quot; in, and then glue it back together

After the cherry is glued onto the block, I plane off the excess cherry to make the angled corners.

The final necklace.

Next, we drill holes for the strings.

Then we&#039;re finally done!  This year, we made about 275.
